Miho Ichise
b. 1969, Japan

Ichise lives and works in Japan, with a painting practice that explores her heritage in relation to the world around. Her painting focusses on the rituals of daily life, the beauty in simple moments. The paintings often celebrating intimate moments, family life, nature and simple pleasures. They take in her home in Fukuoka, Japan and express a humble and subtle voice with an appreciation of the splendour of the everyday. 

Ichise received a BA in Fine Art (Painting) from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Recent exhibitions include: On My Path, Nationale 8 Gallery, Brussels (2022), Chew, Scroll nyc, New York (2022, Love Calls Us to the Things of This World, UCM Gallery of Art and Design, USA (2022), Daily Sparks, Althuis Hofland Fine Arts, Amsterdam (2022), Nine Lives, Fortnight Institute, New York (2021).
